ArxBridge supplies and installs rated and tested physical security for UK buildings. This page maps the six product groups: forced entry, ballistic, blast, fire, perimeter and shielding. Each group is tested to its own standard. Use the map below to find the right section for your threat.
- 6 product groupsForced entry through to shielding
- LPS 1175Forced entry doors and windows
- FB2 to FB7Ballistic protection to EN 1522
- EXV45 to EXV10Blast protection to ISO 16933
Which threat does each group cover
Start from the threat, not the product. Each group below answers a different attack or event, and each is tested to a different standard. The links take you to the group hub, where you can compare the rated products inside it.
| Product group | Threat it covers | Tested to |
|---|---|---|
| Security | Forced entry with hand tools and power tools | LPS 1175, SR2 to SR5 |
| Ballistic | Firearms, from handguns to armour piercing rifles | EN 1522, FB2 to FB7 |
| Blast | Vehicle bombs and hand-carried charges | ISO 16933, EXV45 to EXV10 |
| Fire | Fire spread: integrity, radiation and insulation | EN 1634-1, EI 30 to EI 120 |
| Perimeter and HVM | Hostile vehicles used as a weapon | PAS 68 and IWA 14-1 |
| Shielding | EMP, RF signals and eavesdropping | Attenuation in dB, gas-tight doors |
Ratings are product specific. A rating on the door leaf means nothing without the frame, hardware and installation tested with it. Always specify the whole assembly, not one component.
How the groups work together
Many projects need more than one group. A bank branch may combine forced entry doors with a tested vehicle barrier at the kerb. A government building may pair ballistic glazing with blast rated frames. One doorset can also carry two ratings at once, such as fire and forced entry in a single assembly (see fire and security doors).
ArxBridge designs these combinations as one package, so ratings do not conflict. A blast rated facade, for example, needs its frame, glass and fixings tested together (see blast rated curtain walling). Perimeter protection works the same way: barriers stop the vehicle, and the entrance resists whatever reaches it (see hostile vehicle mitigation).
Who specifies these products
Architects and specifiers write the ratings into tender documents. Main contractors buy the products and programme the installation. Facilities and procurement teams replace or upgrade existing doors, windows and barriers. Security consultants set the threat level and name the standard to test against. If you are at an early stage, security consultancy turns a risk assessment into a product list, and the standards guides explain what each rating means.
Which product group should I start with?
Start with the threat. Forced entry with tools points to security. Firearms point to ballistic. Vehicle bombs point to blast. Fire spread points to fire. Hostile vehicles point to perimeter and HVM. Eavesdropping, RF or EMP points to shielding.
Can one product carry two ratings?
Yes. Fire and forced entry is the most common pair: see fire and security doors. Glazed facades can combine ballistic and blast ratings in one tested system. State both ratings at quote stage, so the assembly is tested for the pair rather than for each rating on its own.
Does ArxBridge install as well as supply?
Both. ArxBridge supplies and installs across the UK: see the areas we cover and installation. Rated products only perform as tested when the frame, fixings and hardware go in as one assembly, which is why installation is part of the package.
